2002 Saturn L300 Air conditioning

My air conditioning blower motor is working, yet I have no air coming from the top vents. The air is cold coming out of one of the floor vents. Filter is clean. Took it to a mechanic wants 600.00 to replace some sort of a flap. Not clear on what that is or where it is located. Help I live in Phoenix AZ and it will soon be 120 degrees.

Sounds like he is talking about your mode door thats the door that controls which position the air comes out of.When you select the different positions on the ac controls does the air flow position every change?Also do you have manual ac controls or automatic ac controls?
