10 mph at 3,000 rpm? Do you know what a slipping transmission feels like? If these numbers are correct you should have visited a transmission shop already. Continuing to force the car to move at all is going to burn up whatever is left of the clutch plates and overheat a lot of other parts that will also have to be replaced. If you have it serviced right away you will get by with a simple transmission rebuild that includes new clutch plates, seals, and gaskets. If it is overheated too much you'll also need new bearings, drums, and gear sets. That gets real expensive. The poor gas mileage is understandable. Pretty soon you'll be getting 0 miles per gallon.
