I have a 2002 Land Rover Freelander that needs a engine. Found out that the engine was replaced before. Also found out these Freelanders are known to overheat. Should I get rid of the vehicle?

It had three owners. The first engine had the head gasket replaced then the engine. Bought it from a private owner who said it was in excellent condition.

common failure. the motors were issue from the start.

warrantys are not transferable from person to person on private sales.
I would look for an engine manufacturer that will give you a good warranty. Jasper, ATK are some examples.
