I have a 2002 gmc sonoma automatic with 190000. I had a stereo with subs put in it but when we first hooked it up it fried the ecm #2 fuse. A couple months ago I was driving down the interstate and the fused fried again and I replaced it. Just yesterday the fuse fried again and now when I go to put in a new fuse it just fries right away. There is a short somewhere I was just hoping to find some answers. Thanks.

If the new radio was cobbled in with electrical tape on the connections, suspect it came unraveled into a gooey mess. Splice and solder the connections, then seal them with heat-shrink tubing. If you used an adapter harness, that should not cause a problem unless a wire was pinched.

Replace the fuse with a pair of spade terminals, then use a pair of jumper wires to connect them to a 12 volt light bulb. A brake light bulb will work well. When the circuit is powered up and the short is present, the bulb will be full brightness so don't lay it on carpeting or against a plastic door panel. Now you can disconnect things and move harnesses around until the short is gone. When it is, the light will become dim of go out.
