Once the trim covers are off the column, insert the key, then there's a 3/16" roll pin sticking up toward your face. If you look from next to the shift lever, that pin is at the 11:00 position next to the clear halo light ring. Push that roll pin in as far as it will go, (about 1/4" or less), then turn the key. I can never remember which position to turn it to so I just keep trying until the cylinder pops out from spring pressure.
When you put it back in, the roll pin will be pushed out when you turn the cylinder to the "crank" position.
