2002 Durango 4.7L OHV Motor. Mileage at 104k. Vehicle backfires when first started, poor power, valve train noise. I pulled the valve covers and saw that 2 rocker arms fell off, FELL OFF! Is this common for this motor? Dealer had no tech service bulletins. Valve springs all intact, don't know how to test spring pressure with heads installed. I replaced the lifters aka "valve lash adjusters" and now vehicle is repeating these symptoms. Any suggestions?

You may have to get a cam lift height measured, you may have a lode worn off the cam, valve springs can only be measured off the engine, start with the basic tune, a backfire will be a vacuum leak, a lean mixture or a faulty lead, are there any set codes? do a scan not all codes set a MIL, start here.
