BRAKES LOCK UP

Brakes lock up when I first take off on my 2002 dodge durango.

Check for oily brake pads/shoes. That usually is the cause. If not that then check for a forzen caliper or caliper not sliding well.

If this only happens during the first stop of the day, you may have surface rust buildup from humidity in the air. That will wear off very quickly and is somewhat common. If they lock easily during every stop, first check for sticking parking brake cables. Drum brakes will grab very easily when a sticking cable holds them partially applied.
