I have been having a problem with my security light turning on and off at random times while driving. It does not seem to be effecting the engine for now but I am still concerned. I do not know if it is related but the radio turns on and off by itself and if I honk the horn the windshield wipers flutter around a little bit. Before I had problems with the security light the EGR valve went out and I replaced it myself. I asked around and someone had told me to check the door jam switch. However, I have never heard of this and do not know where it would be located in the vehicle. Any suggestions would be of great help and finding out how to replace this would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

The switch on the door won't cause this problem. To me, it sounds like there is an issue in the steering column wiring or a ground problem. Have you checked any of that?

No since I got the vehicle I have considered a possible electrical short somewhere bc of the radio and power windows cutting off randomly. But I would not know where to begin.

I understand. I would suggest taking it to a auto electric shop. The would be able to guide you.
