where is the vehicle speed sensor located?

where is the speed sensor located, and is this something i can replace myself?

Hello,

The vehicle speed sensor (VSS) is located on top of the transmission (see diagram below).
Replacement of that sensor is straight forward.
It is mounted by one bolt. All you will have to do is take off the electrical connector from the sensor and take off the bolt to remove the sensor.

You can also test the sensor as well. It should have 3-10 K ohms between the pin of the sensor.
