Hi 21 year old with a 2001 Mitsubishi 2.4L
My car had been off the road for 8 months due to crack in the intake manifold. This crack was caused by heavy engine vibrations (to the point my dashboard has a couple cracks) My dash, glove box, and steering wheel would all shake. In idle and 0 to low rpm acceleration.
I recently replaced the intake manifold and I changed all engine/transmission mounts.
Now I have steady air flow with new manifold which is nice but all the engine/transmission mounts are doing now is (in my opinion) restraining the vibrations which still occur.
I still 'hear' vibrations (especially during acceleration) and I 'feel' vibrations in my gas pedal.
Placing my hand on intake manifold when car is on i feel it shaking (vibrating) and I don't want another manifold to crack. My last guess is a harmonic balancer? Anyone have a better idea on what is causing this disturbance? All I can find is outdated forums with no definite answers. Thank you!
