I have a 2001 Mercury Sable, everytime I slow down and put my foot on the break a little bit, my headlights dim a little. What could it be? Also, where would be the best place to get this sort of thing fixed as well as how long it could take and how much it will cost.

It could be a couple things. It could be a weak battery, a bad ground, or a weak alternator. I would start by checking the battery cables to make sure they are clean and tight. Also, check the ground from the battery to the engine block. Make sure it is clean and tight. If all is good there, take the vehicle to a nationally recognized parts store and have the battery load tested as well as the alternator checked under a load. They will most likely check them for free. Let me know what you find. Also, make sure the belt is tight that runs the alternator.
