2001 Mercedes Benz S500 Able Get Car Out Park Hear Clicking Sound Apply Break

I am not able to get the car out of park. I hear a clicking sound when I apply the break and attempt to put it gear but it won't move. I also noticed that I have no rear break lights. Any help would be great.

check the fuse for the brake lights.

the clicking may be the interlock solenoid but it needs to release the shifter arm.

also, the cable being frozen may be a issue as well.
