I pulled from the computer and am unable to clear it. It showed most common problem is the TPS. With the old TPS while driving the car at steady speeds it sometimes revs high for a second other times it acts like it just lost power; I put a new TPS on and I cant seem to get the idle low enough i've tried adjusting it to no avail also when you put the car in gear with new TPS the transmission is shocked. I read somewhere that someone was saying you need to take it the dealer to have them program the computer for the new sensor. I thought that seemed a little odd for that a 2001. Also the car was smoking bought I changed the leaking ingectors and seemed to help wit old TPS but with new one it started again. Dont know this could be related. Thanks for any help.

P1701 - Transmission Solenoid Malfunction

You're in the wrong circuit. The Check Engine light only turns on when the fault code is related to something that could adversely affect emissions.
