Help needed please

Hi my focus estate 1600 has engine light on and making loud noise I thought it was the exhaust but the garage said they think it might be a piston in enginne they replaced a lead and it sounded better but still noisy and light still on can any o0ne give me any advise as my dad worked for ford for 50 years but passed away 2 weeks ago so I havent got a clue what im doing kind regards jenny

Jenny, some one here will help you, I can guarantee, someone will try.I myself am not real familiar with you vehicle.I do know that to Expedite things, Whomever will need your CODES (Check Engine Light). So please take it to Autozone, Advance Auto, or another popular Auto Parts Store. They will CODE IT FOR FREE! Return with the codes (this same post), and any other info you can. DETAIL IS GOOD HERE. ALL-RIGHTY THEN. Jenny1234----DID THE FELLERS AT THE PARTS STORE, GET YOU GOING? THEY ARE PRETTY GOOD ABOUT DIAGNOSING THE CODE TOO. WAS IT SOMETHING SIMPLE? INEXPENSIVE? I GO THROUGH MY STUFF WHEN THINGS GET SLACK AND I SAW YOU NEVER CAME BACK.I ANSWER A GOOD BIT, CANNOT STAY ON TOP OF ALL OF 'EM!--PLEASE TELL ME YOUR FATE. MAKE IT HAVE A HAPPY ENDING--THE MEDIC
