When I connected a diagnostic scanner to my 2001 F-350 to find out why check engine light was on, I discovered a blown fuse to the cigar lighter. When I stuck a new fuse in, it immediately sparked and blew. Now I don't know what to try next.

Can you unplug the lighter, right behind the lighter. Install a new fuse. If it does not blow. Maybe there is a short in the lighter socket itself (mines done that before). Then all you gotta do is hit the parts store, probably $12 or less, Replace the lighter and it's socket.

I hope that's it, I hope you can change it EZily!

Update me with good news!
