P0442 & P0455 codes

I have an 01 ford explorer V8 and have been getting P0442 code then changed the gas cap 5 times (all from ford) and still get the code. The vechicle revs high about 1500 rpms at start up (hot or cold) and after about 5 minutes of letting it warm up it drops to 750 rpms and can be driven without a problem. Now I have been also getting a P0455 code if I drive it without letting it warm up but I never get both codes at the same time.

These are evap codes. There is alot more to the system than a gas cap.
You need a shop with a scan tool and a smoke machine. The scan tool will manipulate all the solenoids for operation and the smoke machine will identify any leaking areas that need to be repaired. Not a repair you can do at home unless you have the tools.
