My ford escape first started having issues about 5-6 years ago. Acceleration would get stuck and I would have to put in neutral and then step on the gas and it would return to normal. Then when winter got here that year it started running rough when I started it up. It would keep dying if I did not give it gas, but once it warmed up, the issue disappeared. I took it in and the computer showed no issues. I got a tune up just in case it was something easy. Still having problems. It has been put on the computer over a dozen times and it never shows a problem. It is now doing the rough start in warm weather. I really need to get the problem fixed, but no one will work on it without a computer code and I don't know where to begin on my own.

MY WIFEY HAS A 2003 ESCAPE W/ 3.0L

NOT LONG AGO WE GOT A RECALL NOTICE ON THE CRUISE CONTROL HANGING UP (WHICH IS SORTA THROTTLE RELATED)

SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE CONNECTOR GRABBING ON THE SHROUD---THIS WAS SORTA A "TWO PART" RECALL, AS THE 1ST GO 'ROUND THEY WOULD JUST "DISCONNECT" THE LINKAGE---THE 2ND GO 'ROUND (WHEN THE PARTS WERE AVAILABLE) THEY WOULD "UPDATE" THE CABLE/ ETC SO THAT IT WOULD BE COMPLETELY FIXED

WE'VE NEVER EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM (NOT THAT IT MIGHT NOT HAPPEN) I OPTED TO LEAVE IT AS IS, SINCE WE USE "CRUISE" QUITE A BITI WOULD WAIT TILL THE PARTS CAME IN (THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO LET ME KNOW?)----THEN HAVE IT DONE 100% WITH JUST ONE VISIT, INSTEAD OF TWO DAYS WITHOUT IT

I DID SIGN A PAPER SAYING I DID NOT WANT IT DISCONNECTED IN ROUND ONEKINDA A WAIVER SHOULD SOMETHING GO WRONG BEFORE I BROUGHT IT BACK FOR THE ACTUAL FIX

YOU MIGHT CHECK WITH THE DEALER ABOUT THAT POSSIBILITY
