I have a 2001 dodge stratus RT. If the catalytic converter is going bad, would that cause the computer to shut the engine off?
My car is shutting off intimately and won’t restart for a few minutes, always the smell of rotten eggs when it happens

If it was totally plugged or really restricted, the engine could stall. Check to see if there is any pressure coming out the tail pipe. Also, check to see if the converter is getting red hot. Let me know what you find.
