I keep hearing that the Dodge Ram has transmission problems around the 100,000 mile mark. How will I be able to tell when there is a problem and is there a way I can test it without doing any damage? It is an automatic. Also how can I tell when the starter is going out?

YOUR BEST DEFENSE FROM THIS EVIL STUFF

........IS TO KEEP UP WITH PREVENTATIVE AND SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE

THIS IS SORTA TEXTBOOK COVERED IN YOUR OWNERS MANUAL

EVEN BETTER, THIS WILL PUT IT IN MAYBE A MORE LAYMAN'S TERM KINDA READING---IT ALSO WILL GUIDE YOU ALONG WITH THE "HOW TOs"

https://www.2carpros.com/questions/2007-ford-taurus-tune-up

AS FAR AS THE STARTER---IT'LL EITHER START GRINDING/ TURN OVER VERY SLOW/WON'T DO NOTHING AT ALL----OTHER FACTORS MAY ALSO CAUSE SOME OF THESE SYMPTOMS TOO LIKE:

https://www.2carpros.com/questions/2002-dodge-intrepid-starter-on-wont-engage-solenoid-clicks-battery-low-tested

YOU MUST USE YOUR "TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE" FOUND IN THE MANUAL AND IT'S BEST TO DO THE EZist STUFF 1ST!

LAST RESORT BEFORE BUYING ONE IS TO SNATCH IT OFF AND HAVE A POPULAR AUTO PARTS STORE TEST IT....THE SERVICE IS USUALLY FREE!

MY BEST DEFENSE...FOREVER AND EVER HAS BEEN TO STILL WITH PROVEN OLDER VEHICLES, THAT LAST FOREVER---WHEREAS NO COMPUTER IS NEEDED THE OPERATOR IS IN FULL CONTROL--EZ TO REPAIR---AND ARE THOUGHT OF AS PART OF THE FAMILY, NOT A MACHINE.......YOU SAW 'EM IN MY 1ST LINK
