Car loud noises

My car all of a sudden started making the REAL LOUD noise when I start the car from the engine. It almost sounds like a motorcycle reving it's engine. When I turn the car off the engine smells bad as well. What could this be?

Maybe you broke your exhaust pipe/manifold? The smell is from exhaust fumes.

Also it might be your EGR exhaust feed tube if you have 1.
