When driving sometimes I feel a very slight vibration shake at highway speed in my steering wheel. When exiting the highway and coming to a stop my steering wheel shakes like crazy until I reach a certain low speed. When driving in the city it will only shake at times when coming to a stop. Depending on the speed or if I'm on a hill or if the road is bumpy. But it would only be a slight vibrating shake. I just had my rear tires replaced because my rear passenger side tire had bad inside wear. I had a 4 wheel alignment and was told that side was way off. I thought that was my problem but actually coming off the highway it was worst. But it was a lot better in the city. Please help me!

Does it change when you use the brakes?

I don't no what you meant by changing when I break. But if you meant if its been a change in the shaking since the aliment I would say yes. It shakes a lot worst coming off the highway and less in the city but the slight vibration shaking of the steering wheel while driving is the same. I was told 2 bring it back in to have my rear sway links replace. Could that cause the problem I'm having?

When you apply the brakes, does the vibration go away, get worse, or stay the same?

The very slight vibration is felt while driving in the city or highway. An heavy vibration or steering wheel shake is felt when braking exiting the highway. Sometimes when braking in the city but not all the time. Mainly in the city if I'm going over 40 and down hill or on a bumpy road. But not as heavy or wild when I'm getting off the highway. It feels like my car is about to shake apart when I get off the highway!

If it gets worse when you use the brakes, it sounds like the rotors are warped. Have you checked that?

Lol. That's what one mechanic that I've grown to trust told me but BMW dealership gives me a list of things that's wrong that would cost me more than what my car is worth. It's so hard to trust people these days. As a retired United States Marine who gave his life for his country, it's so hard for me to except the false integrity. Thanks for being honest! My brake abs light is on now and I don't know who to trust on why. Do you know what it could be? Could it be because of this problem?

First, thanks for serving our country. That is something to be proud of. As far as the ABS, chances are you have a faulty sensor. Check to see if any wiring to the sensors is damaged.

Let me know what you find, Also, just so you know, if you have the computer scanned, it should identify what is causing the ABS light to come on.
