I have a 2000 Jetta that when it is damp or cold outside, hicups or chugs while it is idling or in reverse. Also hiccups around 40 mph while excelerating and the check engine light is on and blinks around 40 mph, otherwise is steady. Could this have anything to do with the MAF?

I have the same problem! Have had all plugs and wires changed. Also the coil. Was told it was my fuel injector #4, so I had that replaced and the problem still exists.

I have no acceloration, I also have what I refer to as Hiccups, she hestitates than will suddenly get a burst of energy, all while my light is blinking.

Have the computer scanned to identify trouble codes. Most part stores will do it for free.
