Have a popping noise that comes from the front end (driver's side) that occurs after coming to a stop and then releasing the brake. It happens as soon as the brake is released. It seems to be the stabilizer bar but I can't figure out why. It does not happen in reverse. I cannot make it happen any other way. Everything in the front end is tight-nothing loose.

Did you check the ball joints? Have you checked all bushings?

Control arms are only about 6 months old so those bushings should be good. The bushings that attach the bar to the frame are original but they don't appear to have excessive wear. I know the weight of the car is thrown forward when braking. Is it possible that the bushings bind just enough that when the brakes are released the bar returns to its' original position making the popping sound?

Thank you for your help.

It's possible, but I have to be honest. It's unlikely. Are you sure it isn't coming from the brakes themselves?

A final word on this. The noise was coming from the control arm bushings where they connect on the sub frame. The control arms are only about 6 months old but a little lubricant on the bushings and absolutely no noise.
