Ok my brother wreck this car a while back (went into a ditch on the passenger side) at fer that a noise began on that side. It would differ from which direction you would turn the wheel, it would be quieter when turned to the right. He didn't know what it was so he then gave the car to my mother, she then changed the CV axel, tire rod end, and the wheel bearing about 4 months ago, and about three weeks ago the car started to make the same noise but very faint but keepes getting louder and today I drove it for about 20 miles and when I got home the wheel bearing was smoking. What I was wanting to know was that why the wheel bearing would go out and how to keep it from doing it again once it is changed? Thank you for any information.

There really isn't anything that can be done to prevent it from happening. It is a sealed unit and requires no maintenance.

Found out it wasn't the bearing, it's the brake caliber sticking and or the rotor is warped and is overheating.
