I have Hyundai Atos which performed flawlessly for 115000km. Yesterday, i heard a strange clicking noise and felt smell of burned oil. I stopped and found out that coolant is not circulating (radiator and hoses were cold/cooling liquid level is normal). Is it thermostat or water pump or something completely different?

If the hoses were cold when overheating occurs, it means there are no coolant in system. You need to check for a leak in the system and hope you have not damaged the engine.
