I recently replaced my ac compressor. To remove it, I had to disconnect the power steering pressure hose. While it was off, I made sure it was covered to prevent debris from entering the system. After the compressor was in, I reconnected the power steering pressure hose with a new seal. But when I was trying to bleed the power steering system, I noticed the steering never eased up. So I'm pretty sure the power steering pump has failed, even though I installed av new one about six months ago. Is there any reason for the power steering pump to fail from just disconnecting the pressure hose?
