My fuel pump just went out on my 2000 Mustang GT. Of course, I just filled it up. I know I need to drain the tank to drop it & access the fuel pump. But, I also know there is some kind of anti-syphon in the filler neck to prevent syphoning gas. How can I drain the tank so it doesn't weigh about 90+ pounds when I drop it?

I wondered about jacking up the passenger side of the car & then trying to remove the filler pipe & syphoning directly from the tank. Will that work? Can you remove the filler pipe without dropping the tank?

I have seen some postings on the net that you can take a 1/4" hard plastic hose & slide it past the anti-syphon in the pipe but that sounds like it would take a while. Ay suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Frank

You can always use a plastic small tube which can get by the anti-syphon portion.
