Intermittent wipers

2000 excursion - wipers always work on low, med, high, but sometimes do not park. Wipers usually do not work or park on intermittent settings. As condition began to develop, when using intermittent wiper settings the wipers would run continuously as if on low for 2 or 3 minutes before returning to intermittent operation.

vehicle was subject to a recall for intermittent wiper issues - looks like it was an issue allowing moisture inside the wiper motor controls. Not sure if repairs were made.

ideas? THANKS

Boatbuddy is good on that point, another point is to check out http://www.flmowner.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Owner/Page/RecallsPage which can tell you without a trip to the dealer.

However from what you are describing, I'd lean more to a bad turn signal switch which is a normal issue on these vehicles or a bad wire at the switch as most problems trace down to that.
