why is my burning too much oil?

put cardboard underneath it overnight and make sure its not just leaking oil. If it is fact burning it, the oil is slipping past the piston rings and getting burned in the combustion process. There are oil additives to help with this, but I have never tried them. A heavier weight oil may be one possible, yet partial solution.
