Have new thermostart, and the cable is opening and closeing the door inside the heater compartment. One heater core hose is hot. The other hose is a little warm. No complete flow. My question is what other thing controls the temperature of the air inside the car. Moveing the knob from blue to red does nothing to change the air temp. It does open and close the door. Is there a thermostart switch somewhere? I have flushed the heater core and the radiator.

It sounds like the heater core is plugged, remove the hoses and the hose that is cold or warm hook up a hose from your house, turn the water on and back flush it that way. Then rehook the hoses up and wait for it to get warm both hoses should be about the same temp unless there is a water valve inline with the hose that is not working. I am assuming this is not auto temp control where you set the temperature. If this still doesn't work try putting some cleaner like prestone that has oxyalic acid in it not flush. But to do that you need to put just water in the system not antifreeze.
