Car wouldn't move. Thought brakes had locked.

I finally forced the car to move - I was about 10 miles from home - there was a loud twang and then a smell like rotten eggs; my son said it was like cabbage.It got me home okay, drove perfectlybut there must be something wrong

have this physically checked out, you may have damaged drivetrain someplace

Brakes have now locked on and warning has appeared "abs fault. non-function".

You will need to get this towed into a work shop, it sounds as if the hydraulics may have locked up if you open all the brake bleeders and see if it will move this will proberbly be the case, (remember that with bleeders open you will have no brakes save the hand brake so do not drive in this condition.)
