The problems resurfaced and at this time the car will not start at all?

I have owned a 2000 town and country for several years now. This vehicle has had electrical problems for a while which got progressively worst as time went by. It was supposedly fixed a year ago but again the problems resurfaced and at this time the car will not start at all. The problems consist of failing to start, choking after start and eventually refusing to start after several tries. There have also been odd clicking noises, internal lights flashing, the alarm going off at times and the instrument gauges turn off while the car being driven. From what I heard from people I know the suspect cause is either the body control module, the engine control module or some hard wiring issues. I took out and inspected both modules and saw nothing visibly wrong with either one although the ECM is cased in jell and hard to see the motherboard. In any case what is happening now at startup is that I turn the ignition hear a click promting a normal start without the engine turning over. After several tries the wipers turn on and there are visible horizontal red lines showing where the milage and the gear selection are displayed usually. Just as mention if relavent these problems usually surfaced during spring and fall meaning under wet conditions.

First, have the body control module tested. Second, if when you turn the key nothing happens except the red lines, I question the neutral safety switch. See if it will start in neutral rather than park.

One last thought. Often times electrical problems like this are related to bad grounds. Have the body grounds been checked as well as the main ground to the engine block?

Kervinc, I have the same problem exactly with my 2000 Town & Country Mini Van. 260 K miles. Runs great but this electrical problem has got me stumped. What was the problem that you finally found or how did you get it fixed. Thanks, Tony
