2000 BMW 323 trans range sensor

Is the netural safety switch and the trans range sensor the part. I have a 2000 bmw 323ci. The check engine light is on and the code is po705. I took the trans pan off and there is a switch connected to the shifter. Is this the trans range sensor. If so can it be adjusted. How do I adjust it. If it can't be adjusted how do I remove it and replace it

According to my info the switch is on the outside of the trans behind the shift mechanism. It cant be adjusted but just pop off the cable and the plate and it should be really easy. It only pays 20 minutes to change one
