my car keys wont start the engine, they turn in the ignition for everything else to work but they wont start the engine, i have another key thats just for the ignition and that works, is there a way of reseting my normal keys for them to start my car

BMW utilizes an anti-theft system, it is called drive away protection and possibly what has happened is that the dead key needs to be reinitialized/realigned to the EWS(drive away protection module). This will require the proprietary scan tool from BMW, you'll need to seek out someone in your town that has this equipment. Or go to BMW (and have your registration in hand) and order up a new key.
