Volvo s70 won't stay running

You can start the car and it will run for abt 10 seconds then die, if you try immediately to restart it won't start, but if you wait a few minutes it will start and run for abt 10 seconds and die. Abt a week ago we put a new fuel filter on it and it ran perfect for a couple days then went back to doing the same thing.

Check fuel pressure. Check fuel pump and fuel injection relays and fuses.

You can also smell gas real bad after you start it...

Remove a spark plug and inspect and smell it. Doe sit look wet? Does it smell like raw gas? You've probably got a fuel pump producing too much pressure and a regulator not functioning to reduce the pressure.
