Car trouble

My 1999 pontiac grand prix gt is making a ticking noise, it had it for a while and I changed the oil and put some lucas in it and drove it for a while and noise went away now its back, was entering the freeway and my car wouldnt go was loosing power and the check engine light was flashing and it stays on for a while and turns off. Plus the noise came back and personally I think its the lifter or spacer what do u think?

If the check engine light is on, have the computer scanned for trouble codes. It should identify where the problem is coming from. My guess is you will find a misfire on one of the cylinders. A misfire can cause a noise from the engine. Sounds like a loose push rod. Check to see if you can locate the exact area where the ticking is coming from. You might get away with just a valve adjustment. With the check engine light on I would have the car scanned to see if there are any other problems.
