Would a vacuum leak effect the back heater as well it is working fine

I'm not sure I understand. What is happening? You mentioned it is working fine but it also sounds like there is a problem. As far as vacuum, yes it can have an affect.

Well my heater would'nt change levels and it wont change form cold to heat and I have heat on the back heater in the van. Okay I found a bad vacuum hose it took care of the Bi-level changing problem but still no heat on the front heater checked heater core both hose are hot checked antifreeze good level.I not sure which switch under the dash controls the heat/air

It is called the blend air door. It is located near the heater core and is responsible for determining if you get AC or heat. If both heater core hoses are hot, there is good flow through the heater core. Thus, I think you found the problem, the blend door.
