Hi, I have a 99 honda civic ex automatic.I bought it with a burnt engine and replaced it with a d16z engine. It does not seem to burn oil or overheat. However my only concern is that when I start itand put it in drive, the rpm needle goes down and the car turns off. If it does manage to stay on, it shakes alot when im stopped. What can it be?

Hello,

It sounds you could have a clogged Idle air control valve which restricts air into the engine and it stall or runs rough.
Another possibility is the throttle position sensor. If the TPS is out of calibration it might not send the correct signal to the ECM and the ECM will not provide proper amount of fuel to keep the engine it running.
Many times cleaning out the IAC will help improve the idling of the engine. You might also want to clean the throttle body as well.
