I put head gaskets on this truck. When I put everything back together,it would not crank because the time is off because the position I put the distributor in. I know the firing position but I need to know what the position the distributor sits in it. Does it face no. 1 or no. 8 or what? if possible maybe a diagram would help me.

When you place the timing marks on the crank pulley at TDC, the #1 cylinder is at top dead center. At that point, the rotor in the distributor should be facing the #1 plug wire.
