Sit for about a minute before I can go in reverse

Car cranks up fine cold, but if I have to go somewhere within an hour of a cold start, I have to floor it and give it some gas. Also, when I put car in reverse, it is slow to shift unless, I let it sit for about a minute. Had a new starter and an alternator within the last 2 years, aslo new battery. Engine light used to be on, but is not anymore. What do you think it could be? Also, car creaks when I make a turn and when I get in and out. What could that sound be? Car runs great after it is started. Sometimes if I am at a stop light, it may shake a little bit like it wants to cut off.

Start with having the computer scanned. They may be a hard code stored in there even though the check engine light is off. After that, you need to check for vacuum leaks, throttle position sensor, idle air control valve.

Thank you for your quick response. Are the items you mentioned expensive?
