EGR code on my 99 Mustang. Replaced DPEF sonsor and Vaccum sensor, and cleaned all ports, same code. I drive the car about 15 miles or so, and light goes off, but car still running very poor, and idle is very bad. Engine dies out, to around 300 RPMS, and makes a sucking sound from air intake, could the EGR valve be sticking?

Yes, the EGR could be sticking or not sealing. Remove the EGR and check for carbon build up in both the EGR and the intake. Also, check for vacuum leaks and make sure the EGR is functioning properly.

Let me know what you find.

I have clean the egr valve and both ports very good. It has just now got where as soon as I start the engine, it dies, but if I give it some gas it will stay running. About a week ago, (When the engine would stay running) I hooked a tube to the vaccum port on the EGR valve and sucked a little and the engine started missing, but did not die, So, I dont know how good that test is to tell if the valve is good or not.

Thanks, Justin
