My temperature light went on. My car isn't overheating but my coolant tank is steaming. I put coolant in it yesterday, but I don't know if coolant gets old or not. I looked and there was no coolant in today though. And there are no leaks. Whats wrong with it? I was driving and my temperature light went on. My engine isnt overheating but my coolant tank was steaming. I put coolant in last night. But when I looked it was gone. There are no leaks. And I don't know if coolant expires or what. I need help as soon as possible please.

It was overheating if it was steaming. That's why the light is on the temperature exceeded the normal temperature.

As far as the leak, have it pressure tested as it does not evaporate, it is leaking somewhere.

Check your oil if it's high or looks like chocolate milk you might have a blown head gasket.

Thank you for your input. We are not anywhere near that yey.

Other tests need to be done before talking about a head gasket.
