1999 Chevy Beretta mileage: 106,500. Yesterday I was driving my Beretta down the road when the car stuttered and died on me. I cranked over engine many times and found engine only to run when floored. Engine at floored speed sounded very weird. I brought the car home and took off exhaust thinking it was the catalytic converter was clogging engine. After removing engine exhaust engine started and ran for about 20 seconds before it puttered and stopped once again. Now engine cranks but will not start. I believe I do have fuel and compression, but no spark from wires. My question is, what is causing this and how can I fix it?

Your car is equipped with a computer controlled engine management system. An independent auto service center can scan your computer for fault or error codes. The information should pinpoint the malfunctioning components.
