Don't know if two issues are related. Check for excessive amp draw with everything turned off. You can take battery cable loose, use am meter between battery cable and post, if the draw is excessive, check for any lites left on, best time to check is in the dark, interior--under the hood, in the trunk. If the problem is on a fused circuit, you pull/replace fuses one at a time, when you pull the fuse on a faulty circuit, the amp draw returns to normal.
It is possible if battery voltage is lost, the vehicle may go into theft lock?
