I have a 1998 Volkswagen Beetle and I dont know why the car is idling so high. At 70 MPH, the car is the 4000 rpm range. When just idling, the car is at 1000 rpm range. I dont know if this is normal, but I know it is burning alot of gas. The check engine light is on and we looked up the codes. We dont know if just 1 thing just set off all the codes or that it is all out but here is the codes. P0103, p0411, p0445, p0510, and p1565.

I feel that there are a few unrelated codes in this lot, I would first do a code clear and drive and re scan, if P0510 re sets, clean the throttle body and IAC valve, re post with what you find.
