My thermostat was not working so I have replaced the thermostat. Now I have leaks but can't see where from. I'm thinking it might be the hose. Very awkward to get at. Originally assembled with the gasket which came with the thermostat I bought, but leaked. So have now done the same again with Loctite gasket sealant, but the leak is even worse. I'm wondering if maybe I've pulled a hose off in a hidden place, as the leak would seem to be too severe for a cracked housing, for example.

Get a mirror to help you locate the source of the leak. Ensure the housing is well seated and you have not cracked the housing.

Thanks. The only thing I could think of was that it might have slipped out of it's housing when I was trying to tighten the bolts - it's in a very awkward place to get at. I'll take it out & start again tomorrow. Hoses don't seem to be cracked but I'll check everything using a mirror (if I can find one small enough to get in the small space!)
Thanks again
