River and passenger electric windows on my 1998 nissan micra have broken the passenger side went first making a clicking noise but no movement of the glass, the drivers window the same but yesterday during a snow storm the drivers window fell down into the door panel, making the journey home very cold, any suggestions? Do I need to take it to garage or is this something I can do my self, I have read about removing door panel and that it could be broken clips and wire,
any advice I would be really grateful.

If you are a DIY person, it can be done easily. Clips don't break that easily for the door panels. Remove whatever screws and use a steel ruler to pry the panel off, as they are clipped.

Peel the plastic sheet (take care not to tear it and when reinstalling, make sure they are sealed properly to prevent water from getting to the door panel and leak into cabin) and you can get to the door glass regulator, which has to be replaced in your case.

Door regulators comes as an assy and after removing the screws holding the glass the regulator, you can proceed to remove the bolts holding the regulator.
