Help!

Trying to fix my sons 1998 Jeep Wrangler 4 cyl Standard. Its extremely difficult to start and once started will stall if you do not keep the rpm’s up. It sounds like an old one shot engine and that it is not firing on all cylinders

OK so this is what I have done.

Changed plugs wires distributor cap and rotor.

Switched out crankshaft senor with another jeep – nothing

Switched out camshaft sensor - nothing

Checked fuel pressure where it enters the injectors – excellent over 60

Choke is opening no problem

Code reader shows everything is fine

Interestingly I was revving the engine way up and the radiator blew? Just my fault for revving or is there something else going on? Any help would be very much appreciated

Check engine light on?....f so take that puppy to Might near any real popular auto parts store, they will usually code it for FREE!

Sometimes they will give you their diagnosis for the codes, but regardless, write 'em down, and post them with us.

Explain any other issue that has been going on...Mega Detail is nice!

Crankshaft sensors usually have some sort of Paper or Plastic, Sacrificial Spacer on them that comes off when cranked up.... re-installation on either vehicle without proper spacing....might not be a good thing!....Cam sensor may be similar (I just don't know) Sometimes I go to Advance Auto or Autozone on-line to sometimes see pics--still may not show spacers!

Without codes (CEL not on) and nothing else to go on, sorta sounds like my wife's Ford Escape, see my link below, this may be similar to you. Costs little, just to clean it (carb cleaner).....not gonna hurt nothin'.....this is just a guess.

I deal with Mostly Real Jeeps ('86 and Before) I will keep attempting to help, others may jump in too, they are good about that!
