I have a 98 Jeep Cherokee Sport straight six 4.0 liter that was coding misfire in cylinder one. Changed plugs, wires, rotor and cap, still coding misfire cylinder one. Checked compression, spark and fuel pressure, ran fuel injection cleaner with gasoline through system and put about 20 miles on vehicle with cleaner in gas. Still coding misfire in cylinder one. Pulled and swapped fuel injector one and two to see what would code out, the injectors or the wiring. Still coding out misfire in cylinder one. Is there a way I can test the wiring or do I have to replace the whole harness? Or do you have any other suggestions on what it could be? I appreciate your help.

Are there any other codes other than the P0301? Does the engine run smoothly? In the data stream on your scanner, can you see if the cam and crank sensors are in synch?
