Changing a fuel filter

I am trying to change my fuel filter on a 1998 Isuzu Hombre manual 4 cylinder, and not sure which nut to turn the one on the filter itself or the one on the lead in line, and they are both stuborn and don't wnat to wrench hard on it in fear of breaking the fuel line, any tips, oh I did spray it with WD40 and still not loosening

Its the outer nut that you turn the inside is where you hold it in place so that the fuel line don't get twisted on you-

They are both so tight, trying to figure out which direction the outer nut should be wrenched, clockwise or counterclockwise

Also if my engine light has been on for a while could that6 indicate a fuse problem with the pump then?

Outer nut is turn to C/Clockwise for your engine light have the computer scanned for code/s
